MY NAME IS ROBERT POCIUS

I’ve been working in the print and packaging industry for over 35 years now. I started TekPak in 2002 because I wanted to see real change in my lifetime and I was disappointed by all the greenwashing that was (and still is) happening in my industry.

It doesn’t have to be that way. There are real solutions out there. We’ve found one of them.

Plastic itself is a revolutionary product. The problem it poses is its end of life. We have a solution to that problem by returning it to nature safely and COMPLETELY.

I’m proud of what we’ve done, but this is just the beginning….

Our mission is simple – offer better packaging solutions. Better means more functional, sustainable and affordable. We’re not here to ‘greenwash‘ you or your customers. That’s why we spent 10 years researching the options and invested heavily in third-party lab reports, field-tested trials and our own – in-house – experiments.

THE OMNIDEGRADABLE® SOLUTION

PLA, Cello and Oxo-Bio. We found serious flaws and Green-washing in all of them. Some added non-Bio films to help keep them from falling apart. We searched for newer options. We found one that showed great promise and conducted lab tests. The five-year study tested for side effects in soil, plants, and insects. It found no harm even at high doses 50 times normal.

Our films are shelf stable forever, they only react with microbes found in Oceans and Anaerobic Landfill conditions. The time frame to degrade is dependent on many factors such as gauge, density and plastic-type as well as the microbial activity of the area of disposal. 

The organic additive reacts with microbes to create an enzyme that can break the long-chain molecules in plastic into pieces small enough for the microbes to consume completely, thereby reverting to their original elements. They leave behind only Water, CO2, and a small amount of Organic biomass, all beneficial to plant growth.

Our products do not depend on water, heat, sunlight or oxygen to degrade. They only rely on ever-present microbes in soil or water; this is why we call it Omnidegradable®.
