Top 5 Refillable Fragrance Bottles (Updated for 2026)
Are perfume bottles recyclable? Yes, most are.
Does recycling them require additional steps that most people aren’t aware of, leading to wasted glass instead of reincarnation as another container? It happens.
The solution; the refillable perfume bottle. This reusable solution is no less aesthetically beautiful (many make art pieces for otherwise drab bathroom shelves), easy to refill, and has infinite life as a sustainable beauty necessity.
The refillable perfume concept is not a new one, and you’ll see on our list a brand that first launched the concept in 1992 as well a launch as recent as 2026. Forty years has shown a proof of concept that, hopefully, more brands can adapt their models to be part of the waste less beauty movement.
1. MUGLER - Alien Goddess
Thierry Mugler was the originator of the refillable perfume bottle launching the handcrafted star-shaped Angel fragrance in 1992. The invention was to honor the art-like construction of the bottle, one he felt didn’t deserve a linear lifecycle that would see it at best recycled or at worst, tossed after it was emptied.
Fast forward to today, and the whole house runs on this logic. Every current Mugler fragrance, Alien Goddess included, is refillable either through the in-store Mugler Fountain or with at-home refill bottles. Mugler now says it's the UK's number one luxury refillable fragrance brand by unit and value sales, and refilling at the Fountain reportedly cuts glass use by over half and plastic by nearly 90% compared to buying new.
Alien Pulp Eau de Parfum is the newest addition to the Alien line. It has the same ombré talisman bottle, same 100ml refill mechanism as the rest of the line, with no separate eco-edition or limited run required to get it.

2. Bottega Veneta Alta Collection
Bottega Veneta's Alta fragrance collection is one of the most interesting recent additions to the refillable fragrance market. The ten-scent Eau de Parfum line features sculptural glass bottles inspired by the brand's signature Intrecciato leather weave, finished with a wooden cap and gold ring that reflect its Italian craftsmanship. Available in both 50 mL and 100 mL sizes, the bottles are refillable and made with recycled glass, placing Alta alongside other luxury refill systems from brands like Dior and Prada. Refill availability, however, varies by market rather than being offered globally.
What sets Alta apart is its positioning. Rather than leading with sustainability, Bottega Veneta focuses on the fragrance concept itself, pairing an Italian ingredient with one sourced from another part of the world. The refillable packaging supports the brand's premium positioning without becoming the centerpiece of the story, showing how luxury brands can incorporate refill systems while keeping craftsmanship and design at the forefront.

3. Prada Paradoxe
Actress Emma Watson, long known for her environmental activism, was pivotal in the launch of Prada's fragrance, Paradoxe. Her love of sustainable fashion has led to a natural collaboration with Prada to create a sustainability-minded fragrance that includes 100ml refills. It is Prada's first go at an infinitely reusable fragrance and contains ingredients like Moroccan Neroli oil that are sourced in a sustainable manner.

4. Destin de Balmain Eau de Parfum
Destin de Balmain is one of the newer fragrances on this list, and it's a floral fruity, built around natural strawberry, peony, and sandalwood accords. Like the rest of Balmain Beauty's core fragrance lineup, it's designed to be refilled rather than replaced, with a dedicated 150ml refill size sitting alongside the standard 10ml, 30ml, 50ml, and 100ml bottles.
Balmain's other core fragrances, Carbone and Rouge, follow the same structure with their own 150ml refills. That consistency across the line suggests refillability is a packaging standard for the brand rather than a one-off feature attached to a single flagship scent.

5. Diptyque Philosykos Solid Perfume
Diptyque is another solid fragrance entering the refillable perfume category. The French brand's scented balms, Philosykos Solid Perfume, make a home in a decorative reusable case made of aluminum and also come with a soft velvet protective sack. Fragrance wearers can buy replacement refills in packs of two through a variety of places, including their website. Aside from the solid alcohol-free balms, they also offer refillable atomizers.

How to Source Fragrance Bottles
For luxury perfume glass, three standout Impacked suppliers are Somang Glass (SMCG), Calaso, and Likun Packaging. SMCG, Korea's leading glass manufacturer, produces over 10 million bottles and jars monthly for brands like L'Oréal, Johnson & Johnson, and Glow Recipe. With advanced decoration capabilities and up to 60% PCR content, it's ideal for prestige brands scaling production. Calaso offers a different advantage: European manufacturing with U.S. warehousing, fast lead times, low MOQs, and in-house decoration. Likun rounds out the group with decoration built for premiumization specifically, frosting, electroplating, silk screening, and hot stamping among its strengths, making it a strong fit for brands whose bottle needs to signal luxury on shelf. For perfume, where flawless finishing is critical, all three suppliers deliver premium quality with distinct strengths.
Five different brands, five different approaches to the same idea: sell a bottle great enough to use again and again. Forty years after Mugler proved the concept could work, refillable fragrance has gone from a novelty to close to standard practice across prestige beauty. Long-running houses like Prada and Diptyque have built out their refill ranges, and newer entries like Balmain and Bottega Veneta are launching with refillability already built in rather than adding it later. That shift matters, because it means the decision is being made at the design stage, not patched on after a bottle is already in production.
